Luke 3:10-11 NLT – The crowds asked, “What should we do?” [11] John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
After hearing John the Baptist speak the crowds asked what they needed to do. John said…
- If you have two shirts, give one to the poor
- If you have food, share with those in need
John was very practical in His response. The people were touched by him and knew they had to respond in some way. John told them to share what they had with others.
Notice that he didn’t say give all you have to the poor and follow Me like Jesus did to the rich young ruler (Matthew 10:17-27). He said share some of what you have.
It makes me wonder what can I share today? I wonder what you can share today? Food? Clothing? Something else?
