Do not miss Jesus

John 5:39-40 says, “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

Jesus said these words to the religious teachers of His day. They claimed to know all about faith and the Scriptures, but did not recognise Jesus as the Messiah that they were waiting for.

They had knowledge of the Scriptures, but missed the main person – Jesus.

Over the years I have known some very religious people who have studied the Bible, but they missed Jesus too.

So what are some keys we have to understand about Jesus?

  1. He is eternal (John 1:1-3)
  2. He is the Son of God (Luke 1:35)
  3. He is the Messiah (John 4:25-26)
  4. He died on the cross to pay the price for our sin (Romans 3:23-24)
  5. He was raised back to life and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven (Romans 8:34)
  6. He is coming back for those who trust in Him as their Lord and Saviour (Hebrews 9:28)
  7. He is the only way to salvation (John 14:6)

These are seven things that are key about Jesus. It is just so important to understand who Jesus is and what He has done.

Two things you can do right now is trust Jesus for your salvation and find peace with God. You can do this by visiting this page.

Then you can download our free discipleship booklet to help you understand more about Christ and His will for your life. You can find our free booklet here.

It is my hope and prayer that you will do these two things and you will go on to follow Jesus all the days of your life.

God Bless,
Dave

The hole inside

In my late teens and early 20s I started to wonder if there was more to this life. I started to wonder if there was more to this life than just go to school, get a job, get married and have kids.

The more I thought about it, I realised there was something missing. Like there was a hole inside me or there was a missing piece that I was looking for? Something was not there but I did really know what it was or where to find it.

Thankfully I made some friends where I worked that were Christian. When I talked to them I realised they had something that I didn’t. They had a peace and a solidness about them. It didn’t matter what happened to them in life, they just seemed to remain rock solid.

One day I asked one of my friends about it and they told me it was Jesus. Jesus was the anchor to their soul. In the midst of the storms of life that seemed to buffet others around, Jesus kept them anchored firmly to Him. He enabled them to weather the storms with a sense of peace. He was their solid rock.

One friend told me that when we ask Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Saviour, then He fills the hole inside us. The hole that makes us feel like something is missing or there is more to life, is for Jesus. We are created with that space inside us that is meant for Him.

After thinking about this for a while I realised I needed Jesus too. I spoke to one of my friends and they gave me a short pamphlet that explained how to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. It is similar to the one that I have on my main website. It helped me to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.

Today I would encourage you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour too. If you are feeling there must be more to this life or you have a hole inside you, I want you to know that the answer is Jesus.

Please take a few moments to visit my “peace with God” page on my main website. My prayer is that you will find Jesus and you will allow Him to feel the hole inside of you too. You can find it here www.passionaustralia.org/salvation.html.

Be blessed,
Dave

Find peace with God this Christmas

Isaiah 9:6 NLT – For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

One of Jesus’ many titles He was given in the Bible is Prince of Peace. It is a title that sits well with Him.

In Philippians 4:7 it tells us that Jesus gives us His peace and this peace will guard our hearts and minds. And in John 16:33 He tells us that He has overcome the world and as a result we can have peace in Him.

This Christmas I would encourage you to make your connection with Jesus so you can find peace with God. Look to Jesus. Trust Him for your salvation. Give your life to Him. This is the way to truly find peace this Christmas.

Please take a few moments to visit my peace with God page. You can find it here https://passionaustralia.org/salvation.html.

Have a blessed and peaceful Christmas,
Dave
