It has been a while since I have posted in my fitness category, so I thought I would include this video about healthy eating. Much of what is said lines up with God’s Words in Genesis 1:29 NLT – Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.
Having your name recorded in a book can make a huge difference to your life. Just think about it for a moment. Having your name on the book at the Department of Transport means you are allowed to drive a car and having your name on the election roles means you can vote.
No matter what we do in life it is important to be recorded in a book somewhere as it means you can get an education, receive health care when needed and even enables us to purchase a home for our families.
In the Bible it talks about an important book. It is called the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Bible tells us that this Book records all the names of the people who receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
In Revelations chapter 21 it talks about this Book being vital if you want to enter heaven. It says, “Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—-but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:27).
The Bible also says that those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will miss out on heaven. Revelation 20:15 makes it pretty clear – “And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire”.
Today I want to ask you some questions. Is your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? My hope is that you will be able to say yes to these questions.

I read this today about Thomas Aquinas and his vision from heaven…
Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274) was one of the church’s most celebrated defenders of the faith. Yet just three months before his death, something caused him to leave unfinished his Summa Theologica, the massive legacy of his life’s work. While reflecting on the broken body and shed blood of his Savior, Aquinas claimed to see a vision that left him without words. He said, “I can write no more. I have seen things that make my writings seem like straw.”
Imagine sitting down to write a summary of your theology as you were coming to the end of your life. It would be classed as your life’s most important work. Then having a vision from heaven that was so amazing, that anything you wrote after that seemed like straw!
His vision must have been truly amazing to render anything he wrote as straw in his eyes. Oh that we would all have a vision so amazing!
I got an old secular song stuck in my head today – Let my love open the door. From memory it was written by Pete Townsend. The chorus was the bit that stuck…

As I reflected on the lyrics I began to think about it differently. Rather than one person singing it to another, I imagined God singing it to me. Instead of lowercase m in my, an uppercase M changes it all. Let My (God) love open the door, to your heart.
I believe this is the key. Letting God’s love unlock our hearts to both loving Him and loving our neighbour. Some doors are locked tighter than others, so we need God’s help. I certainly did! How about you?
Prayer
Dear God, I want to be a truly loving person. I want to love You with all of my heart and love my neighbour as myself. Please unlock my heart today so I can do this. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
I have been thinking a lot lately about where would I be without Christ. What would my life look like if I didn’t accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour in July 1989?
To be honest I could not imagine my life without Christ. People say they would have done this or done that if they did not accept Jesus, but I honestly can’t tell how different things would have been.
All the major decisions in my life have been made by praying and asking for wisdom. Who I married, what jobs I have done, the studies I did and even where we live. This are just some of the big things, not to mention all the small every day decisions.
I really feel that without Christ in my life I would be like the hicker in the image above. I would have been wandering lost in the wilderness, feeling alone, and that it was up to me to find my way home.
