Healing prayer by Padre Pio

Heavenly Father, I thank You for loving me. I thank You for sending Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in Your power and grace that sustain and restore me.

Loving Father, touch me now with Your healing hands, for I believe that Your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul and spirit. Cover me with the Most Precious Blood of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

Cast out anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ Precious Blood.

Let the fire of Your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way You created it to function.

Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart. Saturate my entire being with Your presence, love, joy, and peace and draw me ever closer to You every moment of my life.

And Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me to do Your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to Your Holy Name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Photos from my prayer walk

I just went for a prayer walk up our town rock today. It was a windy and cloudy day, but it was still nice. We have had some rain lately so there are some nice pools of water on the rock. One image shows my walking stick and my prayer beads. This is the place I often sit and pray. When I came down I saw the word “finish” on the ground. I suspect that is the finish of our local park run. Nothing like a prayer walk and TAWG – Time Alone With God.

Five things to find in this life

I believe there are five things we should try to find in this life. Things which will not only make our lives better, but will make the lives of those around us better too. I think we will also be more fulfilled.

  1. Find Jesus – I honestly believe with all of my heart that we all need to find a personal relationship with Jesus. We all have a God shaped hole inside us and we will not make full sense of this life if we do not include Jesus. As St Augustine said,
“You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless, until they can find rest in you”.
  2. Find your Church – We all need a church home where we can learn about God, share our faith with others believers, serve others in community and receive the Sacraments. God wants us in community to journey together and grow in our faith together.
  3. Find your partner – I believe most people will find a partner to share their life with. Yes some are called to serve as Priests or Nuns and serve the church, but most are called to have a spouse and family. Back in the Garden of Eden, God said it is not good for man to live alone. We need someone to love and support us, and we need to be that for someone else.
  4. Find your Vocation – For me a vocation means more than having a job. It is about finding the thing that God has made you to do. We are all shaped by God with different gifts and talents. He knit us together in our mother’s womb to do certain things. I believe we are most satisfied when we find and do God’s work for us.
  5. Find your devotional style – By this I mean finding the way you connect with God. Some love sitting in church and worshipping God, some find reading and meditating on the Bible hits the spot, some go on prayer walks in nature and feel God’s presence, some pray the Rosary and connect with the Mysteries. It is does not matter what it is as long as you feel connected to God and do it regularly. God wants to be with us daily.

These are some of the things that have helped me in this life. I really do not think my life would be the same without them. Each of them has added to my life in so many ways. I am so thankful to God He has blessed me with these things.

God Bless,

Dave

My faith in Jesus brings me joy

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

My faith in Jesus brings me joy. I look to Him for help, strength and guidance. Knowing Jesus also gives me a great hope for the future. Jesus said He is going to prepare a place for us and He is coming back. There is an old saying, “No God, no peace. Know God, know peace”. I have found this to be true in my life. Knowing Jesus not only gives me peace, it gives me great joy.
