Have you ever broken a bone?
Yes I have broken a bone. I broke my thumb when I was 13.
I was playing a game of British Bulldog at school. It is a bit like Rugby or American Football with no ball, you start at one end and run as fast as you can to the other end. There are people in the middle who tackle you.
As you can imagine, it is pretty rough and physical with no referees. We had so many injuries that the school band us from playing.
The funny thing about my thumb was that it was sore for a few days before I went to the doctor. Then the x-rays showed a break.
As it was my right hand I could not write at school for a bit because of the splint and then a cast. As I swan for my Rheumatoid Arthritis they gave me a water proof cast.
At the time I thought it was cool. I could still swim and I got out of some school work. As painful as it was, as a 13 year old I thought it was pretty cool.
